Football ... lettered four years as a linebacker (1977-80) ... was a member of Miami s 1977 MAC championship team that went 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference ... earned MAC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-MAC honors in 1980 ... led Miami in tackles and was team defensive MVP in 1979 and 1980 ... named team captain for the 1980 season ... earned the football team s John Baumes Award in 1977 as the squad s top freshman.
