Kathy Tepe and Wendy Tepe, natives of Hebron, Ky., were not only twins, but they were an excellent combination both on and off the volleyball court for Miami from 1983-86. Among the numerous honors Kathy and Wendy claimed, they shared two prestigious Miami honors; The Leann Grimes Davidge Memorial Award in 1987 and being named co-Female Athletes of the Year for the 1986-87 academic year.

Kathy is Miami's all-time leader in kills with 1,398 and block assists with 362. She holds Miami single season records in: most kills per game (4.26 in 1985), highest attack percentage (.361 in 1985) and most solo blocks (39 in 1983). Kathy was named All-Region in 1986, as well as earning All-MAC honors three years, including first team in 1985 and 1986. In 1986, she was selected as a third team Academic All-American.
