Sherr was the first synchronized skater inducted into the Miami Athletics Hall of Fame. She was a four-year member of the Miami senior synchronized skating team, earning four letters during her time at Miami. Sherr and her teammates seized the program's first national title at the senior level in 1999. Twice Sherr was a member of Miami teams that represented the United States at the World Challenge Cup (1998 and 1999).

She served as team captain her senior year in 2000 and was named the Thomas J. Fisher Outstanding Skater, Miami Skating's highest honor, following her senior season. As a freshman in 1997, Sherr was tabbed the senior team's Rookie of the Year. In 2000, Sherr was named the Miami Female Scholar- Athlete of the Year, the first Miami skater to earn the honor.

After completing her undergraduate degree in 1999, Sherr earned a master's degree in 2000 while skating her final season at Miami.
