Bell played 39 games along the offensive line for the RedHawks from 2000-03, recording 38 starts. His senior year he started 14 games at right guard, earning first-team All-MAC honors, helping Miami secure a 13-1 record, including a MAC Championship and GMAC Bowl victory. That season, Miami established school records in points scored (553), total yards (7,016) and rushing touchdowns (34). Bell did not give up a sack during his senior campaign which paved the way for one of the most potent offenses in Miami history and one of the top-five ranked offenses nationally in 2003.

Following his senior season, he participated in the Senior Bowl. Bell was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Bell was named to the All-Rookie Team by ESPN.com after starting 14 games at guard for the Titans. Bell later signed with the St. Louis Rams and played 109 games (100 starts) in the NFL before retiring in 2012.
