A decorated pitcher for the RedHawk softball team from 2002-05, Poggendorf led Miami to its first MAC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance as a senior in 2005. Poggendorf captured third-team all-region honors and was a three-time All-MAC selection, earning first-team distinction in 2005. She was twice named the MAC Tournament MVP (2003, 2005) and was tabbed Miami's Female Co-Athlete of the Year as a senior in 2005.
Poggendorf placed her name on every single-season and career pitching top-10 list and finished her career owning four pitching records. She currently ranks second all-time in wins (63), appearances (148), starts (106), innings pitched (793.0) and strikeouts (672). A four-year letterwinner, Poggendorf helped Miami to three straight MAC Tournament appearances (2003, 2004, 2005).
