One of just two Miami women's basketball players to have her jersey retired, Cusick is the only player in MAC history to eclipse 1,700 points, 500 assists, 400 rebounds, 300 steals and 200 3-point field goals. She ended her career with 1,728 points, which set a then-Miami career record and currently ranks third. Cusick was named MAC Player of the Year in 2002-03 and also was a Kodak/WBCA All-Region pick. She is the first of two four-time All-MAC selections in program history, earning first-team distinction in 2002 and 2003. Cusick also garnered the Leann Davidge Memorial Award in 2002-03 and was the Miami Female Athlete of the Year in 2001-02.

Cusick ranks among Miami career leaders in steals, free throws, free-throw percentage, field goals, 3-point field goals and is the record holder for career assists (596). She also ranks among Miami single-season leaders in points, assists, field goals, 3-point field goals, steals and free-throw percentage while ranking among leaders in single-game points and assists. Over four seasons, Cusick appeared in 116 contests—never missing a game—and made 113 consecutive starts. She led Miami to its first MAC East Division title in 2002-03.
