Track ... four-year letter winner (1942-45) ... a two-time all-American in the 120-yard high hurdles and the 220-yard low hurdles ... only Miamian to earn four all-America honors ... posted top four finishes at the 1944 and 1945 NCAA Championships in the 120- and 220-yard hurdles ... in 1944, he ran the nation's fastest time in the 120-yard hurdles at the Drake Relays ... at the Purdue Relays in 1945, he posted an American indoor record time of 6.9 seconds in the 60-yard high hurdles.
