'Doc' Dailey earned three letters with Miami Football during his time as a student-athlete, starting 32 of 33 games and led the team in sacks, tackles for loss, and TFL yardage in 1984. As a team captain in 1984, Dailey was named honorable mention All-MAC, Academic All-MAC and CoSIDA Academic All-American.
He also lettered in track and field, finishing as a finalist at the 1983 MAC Championships in the shot put.
Dailey returned to his alma mater as head team physician in 1994, became director of sports medicine in 2010, and received his current title, Associate Athletic Director of Human Performance and Wellness, in 2018.
He has won numerous 'Best Doctor' awards from Cincinnati Magazine, was recognized with the 2001 Women's Sports Association Business Award, and earned the 2009 Contribution to Amateur Football Award.
