Dixon was an eight-time MAC Champion, was twice named MAC Swimmer of the Year (1991, 1992) and was Miami's 1991-92 Male Athlete of the Year. He was a three-time MAC Champion in the 400-yard individual medley (1990, 1991, 1992). Dixon also was a two-time MAC Champion in the 200-yard individual medley (1991, 1992), a two-time MAC Champion in the 200-yard breaststroke (1991, 1992) and anchored the winning 800-yard freestyle relay in 1992.
He qualified for the NCAA Championships in three events in 1992 and earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, placing 15th in the 400 individual medley. He finished his career owning three MAC records and six varsity records.
Dixon also competed at the Olympic Swimming Trials in 1992, placing 27th in the 200-meter breaststroke.
