Craig Wittus

Craig Wittus was a star tennis player at MU from 1976-79, and led Miami to three MAC championships. He also is Miami's only All-American in tennis after advancing to the round of 16 in the 1978 NCAA Championships. Wittus was a three-time All-MAC performer and was named Miami's Male Athlete of the Year in 1979. Wittus, a native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., won a total of five MAC titles; claiming singles titles in 1976, 1977, and 1979, while also winning doubles championships in 1977 and 1979.
As a senior, Wittus compiled a singles mark of 33-3, the best in Miami history, and a doubles mark of 29-6. His career totals were 111-27 in singles play and 105-26 in doubles action. Wittus was ranked among the Top 100 singles players and Top 50 doubles players when he was a member of the Grand Prix Tennis program.
