Day was a First-Team All-MAC selection and Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American for the RedHawk women's basketball program. A three-time captain for the Red and White from 2001-04, Day was a dominant force in the post and equally potent threat from the perimeter. She spearheaded the team to a Mid-American Conference regular-season title and National Invitational Tournament berth as a senior in 2004.
Day continues to rank among Miami statistical leaders in seven career categories (rebounds, free throws, free-throw attempts, free-throw percentage, steals, double-doubles and 20-point games) and four single-season categories (rebounds, free throws, free-throw attempts and free-throw percentage). She finished her career with 1,269 points, which ranks 11th all-time at Miami. Following graduation, Day served as an assistant coach of the women's basketball team for over a decade.
