Brian Carlton

A four-year track and cross country letterwinner, Carlton was a member of three Mid-American Conference Championship teams. He won five individual MAC track titles and was named co-outstanding performer of the 1983 and 1985 MAC Track and Field Championships. Carlton was redshirted during his senior year but completed his track eligibility as a graduate student, earning his master's degree from Miami in 1985. He capped the 1983 and 1985 seasons garnering All-America honors by finishing fourth and third, respectively, in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Championships.
The 1982-83 Miami Male Athlete-of-the-Year, Carlton also was a three-time all-MAC cross country runner who paced Miami to a 16th-place NCAA Championship finish his senior year. His record-setting times in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs remain Miami records. Carlton currently resides in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
