Archie Aldridge

A 1978 Miami graduate, Aldridge ranks third on Miami's all-time scoring list with 1,486 points. He is the holder of two Miami records for field goals percentage with .608 during the 1977-78 season and .571 for his career from 1975-77. Selected Miami's Athlete of the Year for 1977-78, he was a member of the Miami team that upset defending national champion Marquette in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis. He and his teammates will never forget the three days they stayed in Vandalia, Ohio, during the "Blizzard of 1978."
A three-year letterman, he was selected to the All-Mid-American Conference second team in 1975-76 and to the first team twice in 1976-77 and 1977-78. Coached by Miami Hall of Famer Darrell Hedric, he helped lead Miami to a MAC championship and a three-year record of 57-23. A native of Middletown, he is also a member of the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame.
