Under Coach Chester Pittser, he played tackle end and handled kickoffs in football and was a pitcher in baseball. He helped Miami compile a two-year baseball record of 19-3 and to capture both the Buckeye and Ohio Conference titles in 1926.
He was also a guard in basketball under Coach Roy Tillotson. Bansberg, who served as President of the Miami University Foundation for 15 years, passed away in August of 1976. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977.
