Alec Martinez produced 67 points (21-46-67) in 123 games played for Miami Hockey from 2005-08, ranking eighth in program history for career goals by a defenseman. Martinez was a Second-Team West All-American in 2007-08, earning the CCHA's Defensive Defenseman of the Year recognition and First-Team All-CCHA honors. His RedHawk teams participated in three NCAA Tournaments, including a CCHA championship season in 2005-06 and a 33-win season in 2007-08. Martinez, a fourth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2007, has played over 800 regular-season NHL games in the past 15 seasons, putting up 277 points to date. He owns three Stanley Cups (2012 and 2014 with the Kings, 2023 with the Vegas Golden Knights), and scored the Cup-clinching goal in double overtime to give the Kings the 2014 title. Martinez won a bronze medal with the United States in the 2018 IIHF World Championships.
