Hall of Fame Nominations
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, an athlete must have earned at least two letters in one sport or one letter in at least two sports at Miami University.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, a coach or athletic administrator must have served on the Miami University staff for at least 10 years.
An athlete is eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame at any time later than five years after the end of his/her athletic eligibility.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, an athlete must have graduated from Miami University.
No fewer than four nominees may be elected to the Hall of Fame in a single year. There is no limit, however, to the number of times that a nominee may be considered for selection. The selections will be the top four receiving the most votes. Any other nominee who receives 70 percent or more of the votes from the Hall of Fame Committee will be selected (at least 11 of 15 votes cast).
NOMINATION CRITERIA:
Nominees must meet the Miami University Hall of Fame criteria for induction to be considered.
All nominations must be submitted with a nomination form and an accompanying letter by March 31 for a fall induction year and June 15 for a winter induction year.
Nominees will stay on the ballot for five years*. Those who are not inducted in the five-year time frame will be removed from the ballot but can be resubmitted for consideration with a letter nomination.
Candidates who graduated 40 years prior to the induction year will remain eligible for consideration in perpetuity.
Nominees from sports no longer being contested at an intercollegiate level (men’s soccer, men’s tennis, wrestling) will remain eligible for consideration in perpetuity.
