Former Miami athletic publicist and author of the book "Miami of Ohio: The Cradles of Coaches," Bob Kurz, will be selling signed copies of his book this Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Miami-Northern Illinois football game. Fans and alumni will also be able to purchase the book through the Miami Red and White Club by calling their office (513) 529-8097.
Kurz is the man credited with coming up with the moniker "The Cradle of Coaches" that has been apart of the American sports culture since the late 1950s. At the time, Kurz worked for the Miami News Bureau, which handled the school's sports publicity.
The second edition of the book brings the history of Miami athletics and specifically the history of football up to the present, covering such topics as the Randy Walker and Terry Hoeppner eras of Miami football and the "Big Ben" pass to beat Akron last season.
Books can be purchased the day of the game in front of Yager Stadium in front of the West stands.
