OXFORD, Ohio--Miami's Sports Network (MSN) kicks off its fifth season with its one-hour radio coaches' show, Miami "HawkTawk," at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. The show airs throughout the fall and winter sports seasons and is hosted at Oxford's First Run Restaurant, 36 E. High Street.
Miami head football coach Terry Hoeppner will be a regular guest during the gridiron season, analyzing upcoming contests and dissecting the most recent game. In the winter, men's basketball coach Charlie Coles, women's basketball coach Maria Fantanarosa and ice hockey coach Enrico Blasi will be frequent guests.
MSN host Steve Baker also will conduct interviews with other Miami coaches during each week's show. Joining Hoeppner and Baker on Thursday's first broadcast is Miami University President Dr. James Garland and Pete Zellers of the Miami HawkHeads student group. Assisting Baker on a regular basis are MSN regulars Tim Bray and Bob Rotruck.
Fans will have an opportunity to call in and direct questions to Hoeppner and the other guests. The toll-free call-in number is 1-877-4-MU-Hawk(s) or 1-877-468-4295. If anyone outside the area would like to submit a question and have it asked on air, it can be emailed to Baker by noon of each Thursday. The email address is: hawktawk@muohio.edu. Please include your name and hometown, along with the question.
The show airs live on WMOH-AM (1450), WCKY-AM (1360) and WMUB-FM (88.5).
Miami's first regular-season football broadcast begins at 2:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Sept. 1 when the RedHawks visit Big Ten power Michigan.
