OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University will honor 17 student athletes who achieved 4.00 grade-point averages in either the Fall or Spring of 2003 tomorrow evening, February 18, at the Miami vs. Ohio men's basketball game at 7 p.m.
This Fall, 228 of the 520 (44 percent) student-athletes attending Miami posted semester GPAs of 3.00 or higher, including 14 who received perfect 4.0 GPAs and were named to the President's list. An additional 71 student-athletes received Dean's List recognition (3.5-3.99 GPA).
Seven of Miami's 19 intercollegiate teams recorded cumulative team GPAs of a 3.00 or higher, led by the volleyball team with a 3.26. The men's cross country team (3.19), the women's swimming team (3.15), the women's basketball team (3.13), the field hockey team (3.12), the women's soccer team (3.06) and the women's cross country team (3.05) rounded out the list of 3.00 teams.
