Miami University Director of Strength and Conditioning Dan Dalrymple and General Manager of RedHawk Sports Marketing Troy Hartmann have been promoted to assistant athletic directors while head field hockey coach Lil Fesperman has been promoted to the position of assistant to the director of athletics, announced Miami University Athletic Director Brad Bates today.
"These promotions are much deserved," said Bates. "We are very excited about having Dan and Lil bring their years of loyalty to Miami and experience to their new positions while Troy's work in corporate development has been exceptional in his relatively short time."
Dalrymple, a 1988 Miami University graduate, enters his 15th year on the Miami staff having built the strength and conditioning program from the ground up since 1989. He has been a finalist for the NSCA College National Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year four times, including being one of six nominees this past year. A four-year letterwinner and two-time first-team all-MAC selection on the Miami football team from 1983-86, Dalrymple was inducted into Miami's Athletic Hall of Fame in January of 2002.
Hartmann, a 1993 graduate of North Dakota State University, joined the Miami staff in July 1998 as the assistant director of marketing and promotions. In 2000, he was promoted to director of marketing and promotions and then again was promoted to General Manager of RedHawk Sports Marketing in 2001 when Miami merged its coporate relations with the Gund Sports Marketing Group. Bringing its corporate sales department back in-house, Hartmann will serve as the assistant athletic director for corporate relations.
Fesperman, a 1974 graduate of Appalachian State University, has been promoted into a new administrative position after 27 years as the school's field hockey coach, where she developed 65 all-MAC selections and 16 regional all-Americans along with 25 Academic all-MAC performers. In her new role, Fesperman will work directly with Athletic Director Bates in a role designed to centralize human and financial resources for the department in ways that will benefit student-athletes academically, competitively and as developing leaders. A search to find a new field hockey coach will begin immediately.
