Miami University will honor 17 student athletes who achieved 4.00 grade-point averages in either the Fall or Spring of 2002 tomorrow evening, January 8, at the Miami vs. Kent State men's basketball game at 7 p.m.
This Fall, six student athletes earned President's List honors, posting a 4.00 GPA, while an additional 77 student athletes earned 3.50 or higher GPA to receive Dean's List accolades. Overall, 222 of Miami's student athletes (43%) earned a 3.00 GPA or better during 2002.
Six of Miami's 19 intercollegiate teams recorded cumulative team GPAs of a 3.00 or higher, led by volleyball with a 3.28. The women's cross country team (3.23), the men's cross country team (3.16), the women's swimming team (3.15), the women's basketball team (3.07) and the field hockey squad (3.0) rounded out the list of 3.00 teams.
