Miami Athletics Annual Award Winners Announced
Miami Athletics announced the winners of its annual awards for the 2024-25 academic year. The honorees will be recognized on the field at the home football game vs. UNLV on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Female Athletes of the Year: Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek (tennis), Ella Scally (track and field)
Male Athlete of the Year: Henju Duvenhage (swimming)
Female Scholar Athlete of the Year: Madeline Padavic (swimming)
Male Scholar Athlete of the Year: Henju Duvenhage (swimming)
Dr. Phillip Shriver Graduating Champions Medal of Honor: Nishitha Saravanan (tennis), Abby Suszek (track and field), Zach Bann (swimming)
Leann Grimes Davidge Award: Chloe Parks (softball)
Darrell Hedric Award: Peter Suder (men's basketball)
Dr. David G. Shrider Academic Impact Award: Aaron Bixler (Miami Admissions' Senior Associate Director for International Enrollment)

With a few weeks of preseason practices under their belt, get an up-close look at the 2025 RedHawk football team during Kickoff with the Community on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Yager Stadium. Gates open at 10 a.m., and the team will take the field at approximately 10:30 a.m. with practice beginning at approximately 11:15 a.m. This event is free and open to the public!

Dzioban Named to Lou Groza Preseason Watch List
Miami Football placekicker Dom Dzioban has been named to the preseason watch list for the Lou Groza Award, given annually to the nation's top placekicker. He was a semifinalist for the award in 2024.
