OXFORD, Ohio — Miami University Assistant AD for Wellness Services Jennifer Beardslee has announced that Chris Elmore has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Trainer. Elmore joined the Miami Wellness Services staff in 2010 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
"I am thrilled to announce the promotion of Chris Elmore to Senior Associate Athletic Trainer," said Beardslee. "Chris has been a very loyal and dedicated staff member, as he will be starting his 16th year with Miami Wellness Services. He has worked very hard and does an excellent job providing optimal healthcare to our Men's Basketball and Tennis programs."
"This is an exciting opportunity. I'm honored by the trust and confidence being placed in me," said Elmore. "It's always great to be able to give back to your alma mater on a day-to-day basis, and I'm excited to be able to continue doing that!"
Elmore, a 2007 graduate of Miami University, returned to his alma mater in 2010 after earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Indiana State University and working as an Intern Athletic Trainer with Ohio State. While at Indiana State, he provided daily rehabilitation, game and practice coverage and medical supervision for the Sycamores' baseball team. He also supported the NCAA National Cross Country Championships in 2007 and 2008, and served as a Teaching Assistant.
After completing his graduate studies, Elmore served as an Intern Athletic Trainer from 2009 to 2010 with the Buckeyes. In this role, he provided both traditional and non-traditional season medical coverage. He was the primary point of contact for visiting teams during the 2010 Big Ten Baseball Tournament and gave direct medical coverage for the Women's Tennis team, including travel for the Big Ten Conference Tournament and NCAA Regionals.
Since rejoining Miami University in 2010, Elmore has worked with a variety of sports programs, including Field Hockey, Softball, Track and Field, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Women's Tennis and Men's Basketball. His responsibilities have included injury evaluation and acute care, developing rehabilitation plans, coordinating daily practice and game coverage and scheduling physician visits and imaging.
In addition to his clinical duties, Elmore has overseen supply budgeting, inventory tracking and storage room organization. He has also managed social media accounts for Miami Wellness Services and coordinated the department's annual golf outing fundraiser.
