Denysiewicz-Slowek Earns MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week Honor

The Mid-American Conference named Miami's Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek its female Scholar Athlete of the Week today. Denysiewicz-Slowek picked up two singles wins on the week for Miami Tennis, building on her undefeated regular season and making her 9-0 in MAC play. She defeated Toledo 6-1, 6-4 last Friday and WMU 6-2, 6-1 on Sunday. Catherine also went 2-0 in doubles play last week while paired with Malu Oliveira. The duo beat Toledo 6-4 and WMU 6-0. Denysiewicz-Slowek's efforts helped the RedHawks clinch first place in the East Division and a berth in the upcoming MAC Tournament. Denysiewicz-Slowek is a senior Marketing major in the Farmer School of Business from Drummondville, Quebec.
Miami Tennis is back in action Friday, April 18 at noon for a home match against Northern Illinois.
