Padavic Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio —The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced its Women's Swimming and Diving weekly awards today, and Miami's Madeline Padavic was named the MAC swimmer of the week.

Padavic had a phenomenal weekend to close out the regular season, posting two first-place relay finishes and breaking a team, pool and conference record in a time trial. Padavic started her weekend out with the 200-yard freestyle relay, where she put up an individual time of 22.23 in her leg. Up next was the 200-yard medley relay where Padavic posted a time of 24.20 swimming the backstroke leg. At the end of day two, Padavic earned a time of 51.33 for the 100-yard backstroke, where she broke her school record, the pool record and the MAC record.

Padavic, a senior from Downers Grove, Illinois, is a finance and business analytics major. She was named All-MAC Second-team last year and All-MAC First-team the year prior. Padavic and the rest of the women's swim team return to the pool Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Buffalo, N.Y. for the MAC Conference Championships.
