RedHawks Compete at TYR Pro Swim Series

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-- Five Miami University swimmers traveled to compete in the 2024 TYR Pro Swim Series April 10-13 in San Antonio, Texas at the Northside Swim Center. Nicole Maier highlighted the RedHawks' performances by taking sixth in the A Final in the 200 free, swimming in the B Final in the 50 free and winning the C Final in the 400 free.

How It Happened:

Maier started day one of preliminary races for Miami by ranking 32nd in the women's 100 freestyle with a time of 56.10.
Natalie Gilson produced a time of 1:16.29 to take 69th in the 100 breaststroke.
Allen Cotton concluded his morning by finishing 35th in the 200 butterfly (2:06.17).
Maier earned victory in the C Final of the 400 free Thursday, posting a time of 4:15.03. In the prelims for that event, Maier ranked 24th (4:21.11) and Greta Kolbeck came in 33rd (4:23.06).
Day three began with the 200 free; Kolbeck finished in 40th with a time of 2:04.32 and Maier stood at eighth with a finish of 2:00.08. Maier went on to secure a sixth-place finish in the A Final of the 200 free (1:58.39).
Zach Bann came in 30th in the 200 backstroke (2:07.26).
Bann took 43rd (4:49.17) and Cotton finished 38th (4.41:49) in the 400 IM. Maier ranked 14th (4:54.26) and qualified for the B final race.
Cotton went on to tie for 52nd place (55.67) in the 100 butterfly.
On the final day, Bann took 49th (2:09.47) and Cotton came in 47th (2:09.37) in the 200 IM.
Cotton concluded his weekend by matching the 75th-best time (23.87) in the 50 free. Gilson took 78th in the 50 free (26.87) and Maier finished 16th (25.43). Maier came in sixth place in the B Final (25.43) of the 50 free to finish 14th overall.
