Football
Last Week: Miami fell 38-14 to No. 20 Iowa last Saturday to open the 2019 season. (Recap) This Week: Miami hosts Tennessee Tech on Saturday, Sept. 7 in the 2019 home opener. Opening kick is slated for 2:30 p.m.
Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (0-1) fell to No. 22 Albany by a 0-2 margin in the season opener. Freshman goalkeeper Isabelle Perese registered two saves. Both shots (4) and penalty corners (3) were tied for the game (Recap). This Week: The RedHawks play No. 16 Delaware on the road today at 12 p.m. Miami continues road play at Indiana on Friday at 3 p.m. before playing its home opener against Saint Louis on Sunday at 12 p.m. Sunday's home opener is heroes appreciation day.
Soccer
Last Week: Miami (0-3) opened its home slate at the newly renovated Miami Soccer Field against Cleveland State. Despite some quality looks in the first half, MU was unable to find the back of the net and dropped a tight, 1-0 decision to CSU (Recap). This Week: The Red & White play their next three contests on the road, beginning with a weekend trip to Kentucky when they take on Morehead State (Friday) and Kentucky (Sunday).
Cross Country
Last Week: The 'Hawks opened the season with the Miami Opener in Oxford, hosting the four team meet that also included Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio State. Although the men finished in fourth, the Miami women put on a great performance to finish second in the team standings. Emma Bryant led the 'Hawks with a top-five finish, while Claire Linn and Carly Davis also impressed with top-ten placings (Recap). Last Week: The RedHawks begin a two-week break before hosting their second meet of the year on September 21.
Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (2-1) won two out of three games at its season opening tournament, the Miami Best Western Sycamore Inn Invitational. It was a successful opener for the RedHawks as they took a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 18-25, 25-17) victory over Virginia Tech to begin play on Friday. (Recap) Miami put on a dominating performance as it swept South Carolina Upstate, 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-20) as it continued play on Saturday. (Recap) The RedHawks captured the first set against Northwestern later Saturday in the championship match of the Miami Best Western Sycamore Invitational, but ultimately dropped a 1-3 (26-24, 16-25, 20-25, 23-25) decision to the Wildcats. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks return to action on Tuesday when they host Dayton at 7 p.m. for a match that will air live on ESPN+. Over the weekend, Miami will participate in the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan. On Friday, the RedHawks will take on 19th-ranked Tennessee at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Miami faces Indiana State at noon.
