Connolly Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

Filling in for an injured Junior McMullen, Sam Connolly made the most of his opportunity. In his first career start, the middle linebacker had a career-best nine tackles, one tackle for loss and his first career interception to earn the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week. CMU, who came into the contest averaging over 30 points and 490 yards, was held to 14 points and 345 yards in the 31-14 Miami win.
Connolly and the RedHawks travel to Notre Dame on Saturday, September 30. The contest is set to begin at 5:15 p.m.
