ITA Regionals
Shapovalova represented Miami today at the ITA Regionals where she competed in the quarterfinals of the main draw. The sophomore RedHawk battled it out with Vanderbilt's Emma Kurtz. Shapovalova dropped the decision (6-0, 6-4).
IU Regionals
The RedHawks wrapped up a successful three-day trip to compete in the IU Regionals. Junior Erin Rodriguez faced Western Michigan's Denise Azcui in the finals of their bracket in a battle of a match. It was a close first set but Rodriguez ultimately fell short (6-4). The junior RedHawk rallied to take the second set (4-6). Unfortunately, Rodriguez dropped the match in a tiebreaker (10-6).
Sophomore Emily Struble returned to take on Deborah Suarez of Purdue to decide the winner of their respective flight. Struble dropped the decision (6-3, 6-2). Junior Anastasiia Vasiukhina fell to Southern Illinois' Yana Golovkina in a two-set match (6-4, 6-4).
The Red and White have time off until they return to play in the Louisville Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 4.
