Tennis Rolls Past Ohio Northern

TAMPA, Fla. -- A scheduling snafu 90 minutes before Wednesday's match may have changed the opponent, but it didn't do anything to affect Miami's play in a 7-0 rout of Ohio Northern at Hillsborough Community College.
Both the RedHawks and Polar Bears thought they were playing the hosts when they arrived Tuesday morning, but found out the two-year school had double-booked. So they played each other. Miami totally out-manned their Division III counterparts, sweeping all nine matches in an hour and 15 minutes, about half the time of an average contest.
The RedHawks (5-8) won all three doubles pairing by 8-1 scores, then dropped only two of the 74 games played in singles.
Miami plays the second of its two spring break matches in Florida tomorrow at USF. The start time against the 42nd-ranked Bulls is 2 p.m.
