Last year, Miami sent linebacker JoJuan Armour and safety Paris Johnson to the Shrine Bowl, which is generally regarded as one of the more prestigious college all-star games. Armour is now playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, while Johnson is on the injured reserve list for the Arizona Cardinals.
Prentice is the Mid-American Conference's all-time leader in rushing (4,445 yards), scoring (402 points) and touchdowns (67). He is nine touchdowns shy of becoming the NCAA's all-time Division I-A leader in that category. Cohen is a two-time all-MAC selection and is one of the leading candidates for the league's Defensive Player of the Year honors. He ranks in Miami's top 10 in sacks and tackles for loss, and just last week, tied the NCAA mark for Most Interception Returns for Touchdowns by a Linebacker with four.
Earlier this year, Prentice, the 1998 MAC Player of the Year, accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
