D1Softball.com is unveiling its player rankings for the 2022 season this week, and Miami sophomore Karli Spaid has been named the No. 47 player in the country. D1Softball compiled its list of 150 players in order based upon offensive stats, defensive impact, how valuable they were to their team and a splash of postseason success. Players No. 60 to 46 were released today.
Spaid finished the season with a .413 batting average, 28 home runs, 70 RBI, a .931 slugging percentage and a .489 on-base percentage. She added 10 doubles, two triples and 27 walks, all while starting 58 contests for the RedHawks.
Â
The first-team All-MAC and first-team NFCA All-Region award winner ranked in the top-10 nationally in home runs (28), home runs per game, RBI (70), runs scored (67), slugging percentage (.931) and total bases (176). She also set school records for runs scored, RBI and home runs. Her .413 batting average and 78 hits during the 2022 campaign rank third in Miami history for a single season. Spaid was named Third-Team All-America by the National FastPitch Coaches Association earlier this month.
Â
The Chicago, Ill., native recorded hits in 45 of 58 games and had 24 multi-hit performances this past year. She also had six multi-home run games in 2022 and was twice named MAC Player of the Week.
Â
After just two years with the RedHawks, Spaid is Miami's career leader in home runs (45) and batting average (.408). She ranks second with 119 RBI and third with 123 runs scored.
